Year 6
Welcome to Year 6!
This year, the teachers in Year 6 are Mrs Hardy (Y6OH) and Mrs Holstein (Y6JH).
Mrs Allen and Mr Patel will also be supporting learning in Year 6.
All members of the Year 6 team are contactable via Dojo messenger. Please get in touch should you have any questions or comments.
We are looking forward to a successful year with lots of exciting topics and learning experiences for the children in Year 6 to enjoy, developing their skills and discovering new learning.
Homework
This will be set on a weekly basis.
Maths and English: Children will be given Maths and English homework on a Tuesday to be completed and handed in by the following Monday.
Reading Plus: Children will need to complete their weekly target on Reading Plus each week (5 books, 1 vocabulary lesson). This is reset each Monday and children have until Sunday to complete it.
Things to Remember
- Please ensure your child has the correct uniform including for P.E. If your child chooses to wear a collared shirt, they will also need to wear their tie.
- P.E. is on a Wednesday each week. Children need to arrive in their PE kits on these days.
- Doors open at 8.45 – please make sure your child gets to school on time and attends every day.
- Children in Year 6 are offered the opportunity to arrive at school at 8:45 (Tuesday – Friday) to give them opportunities to complete homework with adult support, work on their learning apps or have a calm start to the day.
- Children in Year 6 are welcome to bring a water bottle to school but please ensure it is labelled.
