Silver Springs have introduced a range of activities to support children and parents in Stalybridge.
The school has been looking into new ways to maximise the use of their facilities during the evenings and weekends. So far, Silver Springs has introduced a Parent Gym alongside a new Slimming World initiative, which will be held in the studio.
Principal Deborah Mason said” We aim to promote positive mental health and wellbeing of every member of our school community and we recognise how important mental health and wellbeing is to our lives, as is physical health”. We plan to continue with sharing our space and opportunities to benefit our local families”.
To continue its commitment to being a wellbeing school, evening sports sessions for Key Stage 2 children will be organised every Wednesday by Active Tameside Sports Coaches.
Silver Springs have also received additional funding Cycle shelters, which will be used to promote active life styles for both children and staff. We will be hosting a British Cycling Assembly to promote cycling to school later in the year.
